Called Artikcar, the vehicle is made of steel tubing and has an illuminated profile.

Ben Wilson was one of three artists to be awarded commissioning money to create a mobile work of art, which will join the existing troupe of vehicles.

ARTIKCAR is inspired by a child’s wooden toy car. The Pedal Powered vehicle is made from steel tubing, it steers by leaning and uses an innovative technology to illuminate the car.

Artikcar is a four-wheeled recumbent-style bike with a bubbly rider profile that is laced with bright neon lighting. Beyond its bold design sensibility, Wilson’s Artikcar is as much about safety as it is about style. That neon wrapping will ensure that the drivers you share the road with will be well aware of your presence. We salute you, Ben Wilson, we’d love to have your Artikcar in our own garage.

Solar garden lights (normally used to adorn a path) are simple devices which use solar panels to charge a rechargeable battery in the day, then they automatically switch an LED on at night. Since they are now very cheap, and are even often thrown away, so we can use these to create self-sufficient (EVER LIVING!) glowing graffiti to adorn your garden or neighbourhood.

Inspired by nature, this art project re-creates beautiful, mysterious, bio-luminescent creatures from the deep sea in your urban canal, pond or river environment. In the initial test phase of this project, It’s built 2 creatures, one based loosely on a jellyfish and the other on a sea slug.

You can also use cheap solar LED garden lights and re-hack them into creatures shapes, using mostly hot glue. The solar panels float on the surface of the water like lily pads and the LED creatures are submerged a few inches below the surface so that their glow is visible from the bank, pondside, or canal towpath.

Read this tutorial at instructables.

The luminaires from LI-EX employ 15,000 cold-white Golden Dragon Plus LEDs and 50,000 warm-white TopLEDs in the entrance area of the new “Stachus Passagen” in Munich.

Two different LED types were installed in the process: for the facade lighting and for the architectural upgrading of the entrance area, as well as for the backlighting of a bronze-coloured glass facade, 15,000 cold-white Golden Dragon Plus LEDs were used. They supply a bright and even illumination, without scattered light or dazzle, and with low power consumption. An additional factor is the good colour rendering index of the LED light sources. This provides a natural colour impression and thus a higher level of safety, due to a more clearly contoured environment.

The handrail, 700 metres long in total, is illuminated by 50,000 warm-white TopLEDs. The LI-EX profiles are outstandingly suitable for this application. As the stairs in the entrance area are different, the length of the luminaires also needs to be adapted individually: for this type of luminaire, this is not a problem.

LI-EX is a part of “LED-Light for you”, a network for lighting technology, initiated by Osram, which works jointly with customers on implementing new solutions based on the efficient and multi-faceted light diodes; since the launch of the Stachus project, the network has been providing specialist advice to the architects, Allmann Sattler Wappner.

Picture an electrified wind chime; as the wind blows the metal chime into contact with the metal gong, it closes a circuit.
Originally developed as a Master’s Thesis at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program in May of 2009, Firefly installations have since been featured at multiple arena-size musical events. Firefly 870 has been exhibited at the New York Hall of Science and was featured on Kanye West’s Blog, KanyeUniverseCity. Several Firefly installations are currently being realized in the New York City area.

This one caught our eye because it’s pretty innovative, seemingly well thought out, and good looking to boot. The Turbine Light concept (which is going to be a part of the upcoming Greener Gadgets conference in New York City at the end of this month) harnesses the power of the wind from cars rushing past to light up the ever-darkening roadways. The turbines use the wind collected to generate energy for the lighting, and while the concept lacks a lot of firm details so far, but we’re sure to find out more about it soon — we’ll be sure to check them out at the conference on February 25th. Hit the source link to see more concepts, along with other people and companies who will be there.

Here is some great peace of work, documentations of dioramas and full-scale instalations that are built on-site in the landscapes.

Author use these as the means to explore issues of illusion, imagination, narrative and potential of the ordinary. He approach his photographic work with a theatrical sensibility that permits him to intermingle issues that arise from contemporary painting, cinema and land art. The resulting images are surreal images, given that they resoult from this cross-pollination between traditional photography and theater. Light and color are used as subjective tools, affecting the perception of space while defmiliarizing common objects. In this work, therefore, illusionistic space collapses while the lights that he install appear as intrusionis and interventions as thay contrast with the inherent atmospheric properties of natural life. This combination renders the forms in the landscape abstract.

Plans to build a 50ft high illuminated flower out of galvanised metal, with 120 petals were approved by Halton councillors on Monday evening.
Architect Anna Liu, aged 43, who won a competition to design the public art sculpture, spoke exclusively to the World this week.

“When you do something quite bold on a big scale it does attract criticism but it also provokes discussion and makes people want to go and see it.”

The sculpture will be erected on rough pasture land beside a metal walkway and observation deck that looks over the Mersey estuary.

As passerbyers move between the East and West buildings on an airport style people mover, the zillions of lights flicker on and off over head creating rhythmic patterns and abstract configurations. The custom designed software also has an element of chance built into it, so it’s unlikely that anyone will see the same routine twice. The project is Villareal’s largest and most ambitious work to date and will be on display through 2009.

Some media mention that or Graffiti Research Lab have some connection with this but Phil Torrone told that they didn’t have anything to do with it, although they wish they had.

You may have heard about the most recent terror attacks in Boston. This is NOT the work of the Graffiti Research Lab. We just downloaded this link from youtube. It’s Just more mindless corporate vandalism from a guerilla marketer who got busted. Interference Inc, welcome to the world of being misunderstood, scapegoated, demonized and wanted by the law. Still want to be a graffiti artist?
