Endless is a modular lighting system designed by Jason Miller for lighting brand Roll & Hill. The half-cylinder units that make up multiple lighting arrangements for any type of lighting needs connect to each other to shape simple and modern lighting fixtures. Their versatility makes the system perfect for any occasion: from residential to commercial and from industrial to artistic.

The tubular structure looks pretty futuristic but classy at the same time. Use it on walls or as hanging lights, Endless can care to any need. By joining the pieces together, you can create personalized lighting systems for your home or office. Use the modular LED lighting system to define your interiors and note that the white glass accentuated by dark joinery can also be a focal point in the room. The elements can be joined back-to-back or end-to-end to shape various configurations depending on your needs.

The strap is a continuous stainless steel band that wraps around your wrist with a matrix of punched out holes. Beneath the surface are 29 super bright LED’s which illuminate to indicate the time. There are 3 models available.
The watch’s LED’s animate in a cascade effect when showing the time. (Button B skips the animation & jumps straight to the time)On the multi-color LED model the red lights (12) indicate the hour, the green (3) indicate 15 minutes each & the Yellow (14) are 1 minute each.
By telling the time in this way it makes it very easy to see if its roughly quarter-past, half-past or quarter-to the hour. With each green LED worth 15 mins; then 2 lit equals 30 mins.

The sleek and stylish design, coupled with its user friendly mounting system, make the Module 16 SMD RGB a sophisticated lighting fixture which can display a bandwidth of graphics and lighting scenarios. The Modules in each elevator are controlled by a standalone Butler, allowing for – easy and independent – updates of the DMX animations in the elevators.
The Module 16 SMD RGB panels in the elevators of M88 are an ideal decorative element for the entertainment venue.

Victory Park: The Future of Art and Branding

Tronic Studio is a NYC directing, design and animation studio founded in 2001 by Columbia Architecture graduates Jesse Seppi and Vivian Rosenthal. Broadcast design and are at the base of the creative collective occupying Tronic Studio. They’ve delivered unique digital visions for both RES and Creative Review, directed and animated spots for Nike, HBO, MTV and NEC, conceived and executed projects for Diesel, GE and Wired (in store) and in general, have worked to eliminate lines delineating one form of creative media output from another.

Tronic has crafted seven minutes of animated and live-action branded content for the Victory Media Network, the world’s first large-scale, outdoor digital arts gallery, in Dallas, Texas. The content, part of Target’s “Art for All” initiative, plays three times a day, as a countdown to noon, 6:00 pm and midnight, on eight huge LED screens in Victory Park, a new downtown Dallas development linked to the American Airlines Center.

Victory Park, which opened March 23, offers visitors an interactive mix of advertising, education, entertainment and art while providing brand advertisers an opportunity to create immersive environments and captivating experiences for the 17 million visitors annually expected at Victory Park.

Philips LED Technology

LED technology is often heralded as the future of lighting – and for good reason. LEDs are easy to produce, generate very little heat, and are super energy efficient, using only one-eighth of the power of traditional bulbs and less than half that of fluorescent lights. Now our favorite avant-electronics company, Philips, has come out with some stunning new designs for interactive LED lightbulbs.

Inspired by the thought â€œWhy couldnâ€™t changing a roomâ€™s ambience be as simple as switching on the TV?â€™â€ Philips has come up with a variety of ways to adjust the color, brightness and tone of a bulb with simple, intuitive hand gestures, such as touching or twisting. The â€œSimplictyâ€ LED bulbs are so nicely designed (with a wide variety of interesting shapes to choose from) that it eliminates the need for any sort of lamp covering.

These LED bulb designs are part of the larger Philips Sense & Simplicty design project, which the company haas been working on for the past year to demonstrate the power of simplicity-led design in driving innovation.

Yelo is an upscale New York spa that offers body treatments designed to heal and alleviate specific conditions or ailments so that you can emerge balanced and energized. Janet’s eclectic designs combine her lifelong interests of fashion,art, and technology. She learned to sew at age 7, and installed miniature lights in her own dollhouse. Over the years, her costume-making hobby began to incorporate electronics, with illuminating results.

COOLLIGHT – Winner of House Party Design Competition

Recently, designboom had a “house party” design competition, and after looking at 3070 designers from 89 different countries, they decided on the top 3. Wen-Haur Yen from Taiwan took first place and in his own words describes his invention:

COOLIGHT combines a handle and a steel cylinder filled with cryogen. When you need an ice beer, just put the COOLIGHT into the beer bottle. It would help you to cool down the beer as soon as possible. On the top of the handle , there is a cork made by rubber would fix the hole device and the bottle close together, and you can drink the beer through the hole on the top of it. COOLIGHT has another convenient device on its body, LED. LED would display the information of time and temperature in order that you could know what time it is or what the temperature of the beer. Besides, LED provides several different colors to show the identification (identify itself) from others, and different light gives different atmosphere of the party. And it would be a good subject of a beginning talk.

Radios and Electronics: Starck Time and Weather Station

Design meets technology in this collaboration between Philippe Starck and Oregon Scientific. The Starck Time and Weather Station is a new combination of style and function. It includes innovative functions such as precision timing with a clock that automatically sets itself to the official U.S. atomic clock, accurate to one millionth of a second. Its cleanly partitioned LCD display features a bold time indication, and includes date, current indoor and outdoor temperature, barometric pressure with trend, humidity, moon phase, and easily recognizable icons to indicate the weather forecast for the next 12 to 24 hours. The time can be projected on a wall or ceiling, and users can choose from seven melodies for the two-minute crescendo alarm with snooze function. The digital AM/FM radio has a 16-station memory with sleep timer.

Originally a nightclub designer in the 1970s, Philippe Starck became widely known in the 1980s for projects ranging from the French president’s private headquarters to the CafÃ© Costes in Paris. When he made his curvyÂbacked, spikeÂlegged chair the centerpiece of design for the cafÃ© in 1984, both chair and cafÃ© became famous overnight. He is also known for interiors, such as the Royalton and Paramount hotels in New York and for product designs including furniture for Kartell, Driade, and Flos crystal for Daum cutlery for Sasaki and domestic wares for Alessi.
